Behind the Scenes… Chef Uniform Photoshoot

As part of our recent website and digital redevelopments, we decided that we needed to put a more specific focus on the people that wear the uniforms that we offer. This is all part of our “you are what you wear” campaign where we wanted to put the uniforms being used in the environment, front and centre across the website. A series of blogs will take you behind the scenes of the photo-shoot to give you an insight into our thought process and how the campaign took shape. This first blog will focus on the chef uniform campaign images.

The whole concept of our latest campaign is too show our uniforms where they are made to be used in and for the chef, naturally that is in a busy restaurant kitchen. As our feature campaign, we did of course have to take some practicalities into account; while we would have loved to use a real chef in a working kitchen, real people aren’t always the easiest to direct. So naturally, the photo-shoot required the services of a model to stand in as the chef and we like to think he did quite well.

Once we had chosen a model, the important thing to get right was the chefs clothing that he was to wear, after all, the clothing is really the star of the show. As you well know, Tibard offers a very large range of chefs clothing and choosing the right mix of products was no easy task. Eventually we settled on a uniform that showcased a great mix of our products and was made up of a chef jacket, trousers, apron and shoes.

In order to give the image a real stand out quality, we choose an Oliver Harvey Oxford chef’s jacket, a truly excellent product which has a very traditional style. The trousers were Tibard’s very own black chef trousers and were chosen due to their immense popularity with our customers. Choosing an apron was one of the hardest parts because of the large range of colours and styles, we eventually settled on a Tibard butchers bib apron to create a great contrast with the rest of the uniform. While they don’t get much attention, even the shoes were thought about, with a pair of black Ezi-Clogs being favoured.

We love the look of the final image, the busy and bustling kitchen is a great contrast to the chef who is clearly in complete control. Most importantly, the uniform looks great!
