Tibard sponsored South Shields Taybarns on May 10th when they completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital.

At Tibard, we are always keen to support worthwhile causes in whatever way we can, so when South Shields Taybarns asked us to sponsor them on a trek across Yorkshire’s three biggest peaks in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital, we were honoured and excited to be a part of it.

Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital is an incredibly worthy caused that has changed the lives of some of the nation’s most vulnerable children for the better, be it saving their lives or simply making them happy.

In an effort to be awarded Fundraisers of the Year for the third successive year at the Whitbread conference, South Shields Taybarns wanted to up their game and do something a little more extreme. To do this, they needed our help.

They were looking for a fleece that looked the part, but also kept them warm in the windy heights of the Yorkshire peaks. They also wanted the Taybarns, GOSH and Tibard logos clear and visible on one sleeve for great coverage.

The classic Taybarns oranges fleeces we provided looked excellent and allowed the GOSH logo to be very clearly visible, but it was nothing more than a wrinkle on what was a fantastic day for the team at Taybarns South Shields.

Over the course of May 10th, they trekked across the Pennines, covering the three highest mountains in Yorkshire.

The three peaks ascended weren’t your average hills; they were Whernside (728m), Ingleborough (723m) and Pen-y-Ghent (691m), collectively known as the Yorkshire Three Peaks. Checking in at a combined 2142 metres high, they are roughly the same height combined as Carruthers Peak in Australia’s Snowy Mountains.

Together with teammate Bernard, the five chefs conquered all three within the day and look set to hit their £500 fundraising target. They even found the time to don their chef gear for the final stint.
