Tibard & Mollie's: The journey from Oxford to Manchester
In 2021, we began our journey with Mollie's at their first site in Oxfordshire. Invited to visit them for the initial briefing stages, we immersed ourselves in the vision from the ground up - understanding the operational needs, personality and ambition behind the brand and worked from there working closely with The Mollie’s Team.
Being present at that early stage allowed us to take the creative lead with clarity and confidence. From the start, the aim was more than uniform; it was about expressing a new kind of modern motel and diner experience — relaxed yet refined, design-led yet with functionality. Our role was to translate that identity into a cohesive, practical workwear wardrobe that would work effortlessly across every team.
For the Oxfordshire site and later Bristol, we worked together to create a uniform collection that represented Mollie’s distinctive aesthetic: clean lines, contemporary silhouettes and a strong colour palette. The garments were designed to balance style with durability, so teams felt comfortable and empowered while maintaining a confident visual identity for guests. Both locations take a smart, on-trend approach, pairing heavyweight T-shirts with olive and navy chinos, styled with aprons and finished with subtly applied Mollie’s branding across each garment.
As the brand established itself through recent years, the uniform evolved alongside it. With ongoing collaboration and regular refinement, we tweaked fabrics, fits and practical details to enhance performance and consistency for staff. This approach strengthened our partnership, building a relationship founded on trust, responsiveness and shared ambition by ensuring each product was the right choice.
Housekeeping across all sites maintains consistency through the Onna Invincible range, crafted from recycled polyester in an all-black palette, finished with Mollie’s branding.

Since then our relationship with Mollie’s has continued to develop in line with their expansion. Each new site has provided an opportunity to adapt and elevate the uniform design while preserving the core brand established in Oxfordshire.
As Mollie’s recently opened their new Manchester Hotel & Diner at the end of 2025, we are proud to support the next chapter of their growth. The site reflects how far the brand has come and how our collaboration has matured, combining operational insight with a distinctive, recognisable look that carries the Mollie’s identity forward. The new hotel set within the iconic Old Granada building is a distinctly modern environment, celebrating the building’s heritage with thoughtful references woven throughout the interiors. The uniform needed to complement this bold yet design conscious setting.
While the range echoes Oxford and Bristol in structure, Manchester carries its own identity. Here, we introduced more cutting-edge silhouettes, including the parachute pants paired with oversized T-shirts and sustainable bib aprons in tones such as cement, dark grey, olive/chestnut and sage. Subtle yet expressive statements like “Perfect Company” and “Beautifully Flawed” are personalised at the back of selected T-shirts, adding individuality while maintaining brand coherence. We provided mood boards and visual mock ups prior so teams could fully vision how garments would look after the Mollie’s branding is added.
Footwear is completed with Converse trainers, highlighting the relaxed and comfortable yet functional aesthetic. Managers elevate their look with an oversized navy shacket — a style mirrored across other sites but uniquely adapted in Manchester with a more structured, square hem for a sharper finish.
We also built Mollies a cloud store with all their products, personalisation's and delivery addresses with site specific allocation, so each login has its own access level, helping to save time when ordering.
Branding in Manchester also subtly differs, while Oxford and Bristol feature the established Mollie’s “M” logo, Manchester reinterprets the mark with a distinctive dotted “M”, further signalling its individuality within the wider brand family.
From attending that first site briefing in Farringdon to supporting a growing national brand, our work with Mollie’s demonstrates the value of early collaboration and long-term partnership. From the beginning, by embedding ourselves in the brand story we have helped shape a uniform programme that evolves with the business.
Each new site provides an opportunity to adapt and elevate the design while preserving the core identity established in Oxfordshire. The result is a recognisable yet flexible wardrobe that ensures every team member represents Mollie’s with confidence, consistency and style.
“At Mollie’s, the uniform has always been about expressing who we are as a brand and how we want our people to feel when they come to work. From the beginning, the goal was to create something that reflects the relaxed confidence and personality of Mollie’s while giving our teams something they feel proud and comfortable wearing. As the brand has grown from Oxford to Bristol and now Manchester, the uniform has evolved with us, helping to create a consistent identity while still allowing each site to have its own character. Ultimately, it’s about our people, when they feel confident and connected to the brand, that energy carries straight through to the guest experience.”
