Youth Hostel Asociation
Delivering diverse, professional uniforms for YHA employees countrywide.
Being well-known across the country for supplying some major restaurant and hospitality venues, Tibard is often paired with just chef and hospitality wear. This is what makes our partnership with YHA an interesting one, with the diverse selection of uniforms YHA require. Since we began working with YHA, the fundamental need for their clothing was simple, a high-quality collection of personalised uniforms at a competitive price, that will perform and last, which is the exact reason we were the perfect match.
YHA have a wide variety of staff members working for them, which all require uniform to work in. The kitchen staff require chef clothing, the management and receptionists need shirts and blouses, the waiting-on and bar staff need aprons, the various activity staff require outdoor wear such as fleeces, waterproof suits, hoodies, 3-in-1 jackets and coats, gilets, high visibility clothing, and the list goes on. The majority of which is personalised with either YHA logo or text. This diversity is what makes YHA an interesting client of ours, and which also demonstrates of our vast range of clothing and uncontested flexibility.
The Youth Hostel Association (YHA) is a non-profit, charitable organisation, which provides youth hostel budget accommodation sites all over England and Wales. YHA began more than 80 years ago, with the first hostel opening near Llanwrst, North Wales in 1930 with 74 more hostels opening over the course of the following year.
YHA’s hostel sites were subject to significant modernisation during the 70’s, then in the 80’s regional management was introduced, and the regional committees were reformed into four councils of North, South, Central and Wales. This change saw YHA continue to progress, with another new record of overnight stays of over 2 million by the year 2000.
Today, YHA operates across 160 locations in England and Wales including 10 city centres, 4 country houses, 34 campsites and even one castle. The number of employees across these hostels is now at 1,200, with almost the same amount of volunteers. All those staff members and volunteers equal a total of 40,000 hours of staff training a year!
