Tibard, the UK’s go-to brand for the supply and rental of quality chefs’ uniforms and workwear, has successfully launched a new online e-commerce facility for colleges. The ‘Tibard College Store’ is a digital e-commerce solution for UK education providers. It allows students to purchase equipment and branded uniforms for their designated college, online.

The ‘Tibard College Store’ is a digital e-commerce solution for UK education providers. It allows students to purchase equipment and branded uniforms for their designated college, online.

Launched as a trial in September with just 11 colleges, the Tibard College Shop is now available to vocational education providers and colleges nationally. The project was initiated by Tibard’s sales manager, Steve Hughes after identifying the need for an online solution in the marketplace.

The store is the first of its kind to be brought to market and brings an improved digital platform to replace the out-dated and time consuming manual process that was previously used by colleges.

As well as the traditional chefs whites and knives, the store enables providers of beauty and sports courses to sell personalised and branded equipment and clothing to their students, online. Each education provider can create ‘packs’ for students at each level of their studies in a variety of disciplines.

On average, students who have taken part in the initial Tibard College Store trial have saved between 15 and 25 per cent overall.

Tibard’s College Store is the second digital investment for the company in 2014 having launched a new, fully responsive e-commerce website earlier in the year. The company once again partnered with leading integrated agency, Motionlab, for the project.

Speaking about the Tibard College Store launch, Tibard sales manager, Steve Hughes said: “When I joined Tibard last year and started speaking with customers within the education sector, it quickly became apparent that that there was a real gap in the market for an online portal that would streamline the ordering process for equipment and clothing.

“The beauty of the Tibard College Store is that it is personalised and branded for each college, all stored behind a secure log in. Colleges have the freedom to pre set the required branding of items that their students need, with personalisation available on many items too. It saves them time and is proving to be a real cost saver for both the colleges and students.

“The launch reinforces our ability to identify and adapt to the needs of our customers in a digital age.”
